Scarf Patterns
The easiest thing to create for beginning fiber artists is a scarf. Let's make one. First, let choose a pattern. Choose one suitable for your ability level but try to challenge yourself so you don't become bored while creating your scarf. If you are a more advanced fiber artist and would like to try a more advanced pattern, please bring it in to clear it with Mrs. G first.

Knitting Patterns
EASIEST - GARTER STITCH Cast on any number of stitches. If you want your scarf to be wide, cast on a larger number. It you want to wrap your scarf around your neck, you might want to make it narrower by casting on fewer stitches.
EASY - STOCKINETTE STITCH Cast on any number of stitches. The more stitches, the wider your scarf will be. NOTE: Stockinette stitch WILL roll up on itself as you knit. If you want a rolled scarf, you can do this but I suggest making it VERY narrow and long.
Intermediate - 1/1 RIBBING
Cast on an odd number of stitches. Your scarf will narrow naturally as you knit so make sure you cast on enough stitches.
Intermediate - 2/2 RIBBING
Cast on a multiple of 4. Your scarf will narrow slightly so make sure you cast on enough stitches.
Intermediate - HORIZONTAL ROWS
Cast on any number of stitches. The more stitches, the wider your scarf will be.
Intermediate - SEED STITCH
Cast on an even number of stitches. The more stitches you cast on, the wider your scarf will be.
Intermediate - DOUBLE SEED STITCH
